Understanding how humans and animals excel at adaptive movements inspires engineers to improve the adaptive capabilities of machines. Conversely, experiments with technical devices that adapt to a changing environment can shed more light on the basic principles of biological systems. 

We believe that scholarly interactions between biologists and engineers play essential roles in facilitating synergistic advancements and innovation in robotics and biology. The AMAM 2015 encourages researchers from these and other fields to interact and exchange ideas.
